Five directions

See what the campaign could look like, before a single channel

Every other app executes a look. This one chooses it: five directions by default, each carrying the same message a different way, each designed far enough to actually judge — and all at one size, so you are comparing ideas rather than formats.

  • Five directions by default
  • Your house look is one of them
  • All at one size, so ideas compete

A creative director's concept round is a week and a retainer before anything is designed.

Estimated cost
Estimate: around 600 credits for five directions at one size.
Estimated time
Allow roughly 8–12 minutes; directions arrive as each one finishes.
One direction of five, designed at 4:5 — the others take the same message somewhere else entirely.

What you give it

What the campaign is for
The product page, launch brief or deck. No direction is allowed to claim more than it says.
What the campaign has to say
One sentence. It is the fixed point — directions differ in how they say it, never in what they say.
Who it is for
A persona from your Brand Kit, which sets how far a direction may travel from the house look.
How many directions
Five by default; four or six if you want the wall narrower or wider.
Size to explore at
Portrait, square, landscape or story — one canvas for all of them.
Anything else about this campaign
Territories to try or rule out. It outranks its own reading of the angle, never the source on a fact.

What it does

  1. Read your source for what the campaign actually has to say
  2. Put up several directions — one in your brand's own look, the rest not
  3. Take each somewhere different: photography, illustration, collage, dimensional, abstract
  4. Design real key art for every direction, all at the same size
  5. Say what each one keeps and breaks, and which we would take forward

What you get

One piece of key art per direction
  1. One piece of finished key art per direction
  2. Your Brand Kit's own look as one direction
  3. Photography, illustration, collage and dimensional territories
  4. What each direction keeps and breaks
  5. The one it would take forward

Who it's for

The week before the campaign is briefed out

You need something to react to. Not moodboards of other people's work — real key art carrying your actual message, far enough along that choosing between them means something.

Teams stuck in their own house style

The Brand Kit look goes up as one direction, and four others deliberately do not. You find out what the campaign could be before committing to what it has always been.

Anyone who has to sell a direction internally

Each direction comes with what it keeps, what it breaks and which one we would take forward — the argument, not just the picture.

One message, five ways of meaning it

Point it at the page you sell from, write the one line the campaign has to land, and pick the buyer. It reads the source for the promise and the proof, then designs five pieces of key art at the one size you chose: your Brand Kit's own look, then photography, illustration, collage and something dimensional. Each is real artwork with the message set in it, not a thumbnail sketch. Underneath each one it says what that direction keeps of your brand, what it deliberately breaks, and which of the five it would take forward — so the choice is argued rather than eyeballed.

Ideas, not formatsEvery direction is designed at the one canvas you picked, so the comparison is the thinking.

It will not pad the wallIf it cannot find five honestly different ideas it says so and makes the ones it has.

Questions worth asking

Is this five colorways of the same idea?

No — and if it genuinely cannot find five honestly different ideas, it says so in the plan and makes the ones it has rather than padding the wall with a recolor. Each direction has to take the message somewhere the others do not.

Why is everything the same size?

Because a wall of different shapes compares formats instead of ideas. Every direction is designed at the one canvas you picked, so the only thing separating them is the thinking. Once you have chosen, the other apps build that direction out across channels.

Can it invent a claim to make a direction work?

No. The source is the ceiling on what any direction may say. Your open brief can override the angle, the territory and what to avoid — it never overrides the source on a fact.

The directions are drawn from the same knowledge graph every other app reads, so the one you choose carries into the ads, carousels and infographics built after it.
