Three Plugins, One Library: DesignTech AI Goes Where You Work
Content teams live across multiple tools. Designers stay in Canva. Writers live in Google Docs. Publishing teams manage WordPress. Until now, getting approved assets from DesignTech AI into those tools meant downloading files, switching tabs, and losing track of which version was which.
That's changed.
Three Native Plugins
DesignTech AI now ships three native plugins that bring your ContentCanvas™ library into the tools your team already uses every day.
Canva Plugin
The Canva plugin adds a DesignTech AI panel inside any Canva design. Browse your library, filter by type, and drop images, videos, or text blocks directly onto your canvas — without leaving Canva.
The plugin uses the same ContentCanvas™ search your team already knows. Filter by tag, format, or folder. Preview full resolution before inserting. Assets are linked back to their source so you can track usage across campaigns.
Setup:
- Install from the Canva Apps Marketplace
- Authenticate with your DesignTech AI credentials
- Browse your ContentCanvas™ library in the Canva sidebar
Google Workspace Add-on
The Google Workspace add-on works in both Docs and Slides. Pull any content from your DesignTech AI library into a document or presentation — or push the current doc back to DesignTech AI as a new content item.
The push feature is what makes this add-on genuinely useful for teams. Client deliverables, reports, slide decks — push them into ContentCanvas™ after creation and they become searchable, reusable source material for future AI generation jobs.
Setup:
- Install from Google Workspace Marketplace
- Open Google Docs or Slides and click Add-ons → DesignTech AI
- Authenticate (separate tokens for Docs and Slides, each stored per-user)
WordPress Plugin
The WordPress plugin adds a Gutenberg sidebar block to the post editor. Browse and insert assets into posts, and push published posts back to DesignTech AI to keep your content library current.
With two-way sync, your WordPress blog becomes a live source of truth in ContentCanvas™. New posts appear automatically, ready to be repurposed into social assets, email campaigns, or translated variants.
Setup:
- Upload the
designtech-aifolder to/wp-content/plugins/ - Activate via the Plugins screen
- Open any post and connect from the DesignTech AI sidebar
Why This Matters
The ContentCanvas™ library is only valuable if your team can access it when they need it — not after they've already closed the design tool and opened a browser. These plugins remove that friction.
They also change the flow of content creation. Instead of importing assets into your library first and then creating, designers and writers can browse the library mid-creation, which is how creative work actually happens.
Asset Governance Still Applies
Inserting through the plugin doesn't bypass your organization's governance settings. Assets flagged as draft or pending approval won't appear to users without admin access. The same visibility controls that govern ContentCanvas™ apply across all three plugins.
What's Next
We're expanding plugin coverage to Microsoft 365 (Word and PowerPoint) and Figma later this year. The same architecture — browse, insert, push — applies across every tool.
